In this video, I demonstrate and explain the creative process I use a gelli plate and acrylic ink to make 4 abstract paintings from one large piece of paper (300 gsm).

In the first half, I create freely in order to produce bold, interesting marks throughout several layers of paint and collage on a 24"x18" piece of paper.

At the end, I cut the painting I created into 4, 9"x12" paintings and/or painting starts. I may work more on these later, but for the time being I'm going to sit with them for a while.

Materials used: 300 gsm paper, acrylic paint, gelli plate (I use Gelli Arts or Gel Press), acrylic ink, and graphite pencil.
