When I am creating an infusion, I like grind my herbal material. Powders or looser herbal leaves and petals are easier for the oil to saturate. It also helps open the plants to release more essence, creating a stronger infusion.

Getting ready made powders is helpful, but I prefer the whole herb. For one, I get to ensure the herb is of high quality before it is powdered. I also have more control over how finely I want my powders to be.

The only thing to watch for is how hot the blender gets while blending! Too much heat can 'cook' my herbs before I'm ready to infuse. so it takes alot of patience!
