Violence over land dispute caught on camera in Assam's Nalbari, many hospitalised

At least 8 persons sustained injuries during a dispute over land in Barkhetri in Nalbari district of Assam. The scuffle was caught on camera.

According to reports, a gang led by Abu Hanif, Sakat Ali, and Bahar Ali carried out a brutal assault on Sikandar Ali, Aamjad Ali, Ramzan Ali, Munnaf Ali, Anar Ali, Subur Uddin, Nabiran Nessa, Jaynab Bibi, and Akbar Ali with sticks, machetes, knives, and other weapons.

Sikandar Ali, Amjad Ali, Anar Ali, Sobur Uddin, Munaf Ali, Akbar Ali, Nabiran Nessa, and Ramzan Ali, sustained serious injuries in the assault. The victims were all rushed to the Mukalmua Civil Hospital for medical attention.

"Hanif Ali is a broker who keeps demanding land from us. We had gone to the field where he demanded the plot of land. We did not agree to it. He gave the order for us to be attacked. Ten of us were thrashed. Nine of us sustained serious injuries," said one of the victims.

Meanwhile, Sikandar Ali's family has filed an FIR at the Siyalmari Police Station and investigation is underway.
