1986 HONDA VT500 POLICE TRIKE

After Harley-Davidson stopped production of the Servi-Car in 1973, there remained a small demand from police departments for a similar specialized Trike. In 1986 Kosman Specialties, a motorcycle drag racing supplier in Windsor, CA, built 100 similar 6-speed, water-cooled shaft drive Honda VT500 police trikes for the Oakland and San Francisco and possibly Richmond, VA departments.
This Kosman trike was formerly an Oakland, CA police trike. While largely original, it has had the blue lights in the rear box, as well as the siren and other police equipment removed. It is probable that fewer than 25 of the original 100 Kosman trikes remain today, this being one in the finest condition.
