Jeannette Wing is executive vice president for research and professor of computer science at Columbia University, and is one of three leaders of Columbia AI.

Wing previously served as Avanessians Director of Columbia’s Data Science Institute. She came to Columbia from Microsoft, where she served as corporate vice president of Microsoft Research, overseeing research labs worldwide. Before joining Microsoft, she was on the faculty at Carnegie Mellon University, where she served as head of the department of computer science and associate dean for academic affairs of the School of Computer Science. In addition to numerous fellowships, she holds bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees from MIT.
