When Jesus told the story of the prodigal son in Luke 15, He revealed the heart of God — a Father full of compassion, not condemnation. This week at Abundant Life Church, Pastor Phil Hopper teaches how both sons in the story were lost and how each of us can find our way home through Jesus Christ.

Through this story, Jesus shows the difference between religion and redemption, and how every person is invited to experience the joy of restoration.

The younger son walked away in rebellion, wasting everything in pursuit of his desires. Yet when he came to his senses and returned home, the father ran to him, embraced him, and celebrated his return. That same heart of grace is open to anyone willing to come back to God the Father today.

The heart of God the Father is not condemnation but compassion!

When you receive the Son, you are restored to the Father. As Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
