Dr. Jeffry knew it wasn't too late to start living a healthy life, so he took a good look at his diet and made some changes.
He cut out sugar, flour products, white rice, potatoes, and anything with harmful trans fats.
He also quit drinking beer.
However Dr Jeffry, also faced another obstacle when he realized he was losing muscle mass and gaining fat in his belly and thighs.
But, with the help of a gerontologist, he learned that it was due to a decrease in testosterone levels and was able to correct it through hormone replacement therapy and the new nutrition program.
Next, Dr. Jeffry turned his attention to exercise. He had never been a fan of working out, but he knew that it was important for his health. He started by taking short walks around his neighbourhood and gradually increased the distance and intensity of his walks. As he got stronger, he began to add other forms of exercise to his routine such as cycling, swimming and even martial arts. With the help of a former marine as his coach, he was able to push through the initial discomfort and see the results.
After just 5 months, he lost over 50 pounds of weight..
As Dr. Jeffry continued to make these lifestyle changes, he saw a significant improvement in his health. His diabetes was under control, his heart was stronger, and he had more energy.
He also noticed that he was building muscle and losing fat and he felt like a new man.
