Karnataka is a state located in the South of India.
I chose this name for two reasons: On the one hand, for the simple phonetics and syllabic consonance of the name: Kar-na-ta-ka...so rhythmic, energetic.
On the other hand, for the musical reference of Indiaby the use of tabla and certain rythmic signals. Some passages, although clearly notated and structured, are to be interpreted with freedom - a notion of spirit, or an illusion of spontaneous improvisation.
"Groove" is absolutely dominant throughout the piece.
