We love when a patient’s goal is to return to a meaningful activity like walking their dog 🐶. Not only because we’re both dog lovers but because this type of goal can keep a patient motivated throughout therapy 💪🏼

In order to achieve this goal, there are various skills we need to be addressing including:
❇️ Dynamic standing balance and stability
❇️ Strength (full body)
❇️ Endurance
❇️ Gait training and functional mobility training
❇️ Coordination
❇️ Grip strength
❇️ Safety awareness

✍🏻 Documentation example: “patient participated in theraband resistance training for dog walking. Patient stood with feet in staggered stance while multi-directional resistance was applied with a medium theraband. Patient demonstrating improved control and coordination in resisting forces. Modified level of pull due patient’s decreased strength in L shoulder and stamina, requiring shorter intervals less than 30 seconds at a time.”
