Liverpool preparing blockbuster initial offer for Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite with Man Utd at risk of losing out on prime target. Liverpool are reportedly poised to make a substantial first bid for Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite. The Reds have yet to secure their first signing of the summer, having been unsuccessful in persuading key target Martin Zubimendi to leave Real Sociedad. As they edge closer to acquiring another La Liga talent in the form of Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, Liverpool are now said to be preparing an offer for Everton's Branthwaite. Liverpool have put together a huge offer amounting to 63 million pounds plus an additional 7 million pounds in add-ons to try and capture the centre-back from their Merseyside rivals. The highly-regarded 22-year-old has been a significant target for Manchester United, who have had two proposals turned down by the Toffees, with the most recent bid reportedly around 50 million pounds. The Red Devils have already secured two centre-backs this summer in Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro. Consequently, United will likely avoid engaging in a bidding war against Liverpool this summer. Liverpool and Slot are open to the possibility of selling Joe Gomez before the transfer window closes, with Newcastle United reportedly showing interest. The potential sale would enable the Reds to make a concerted effort to sign Branthwaite before the transfer window closes on August 30.
Manchester United have received a 25 million euro offer from Napoli for Scott McTominay, but it is still insufficient to move forward. Man United have consistently requested a sum exceeding 30 million euros to transfer McTominay.
