Nandyal By Poll: The Nandyal by-election has registered an impressive 80% voter turnout. People turned out in good strength to vote for their candidates in all the 255 voting booths.

The contest is fierce between TDP & YSRCP. The battle is poised on an equal scale for both the political fronts. The key feature of this election is the Voter Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT), which is a slip that generates as an acknowledgment to the party for which an individual votes.

The VVPAT slip contains the symbol of the party for which one has voted & drops into a box after appearing before the voter from a machine as an acknowledgment of his vote.

By-elections were also conducted in Goa’s Panaji & Vapoi, Delhi’s Bawana. Nandyal was the most impressive because of its 80% voter turnout.
