Ueno is a district in Tokyo's Taitō Ward, housing Ueno Park, established in 1873 and a number of world class museums, including The Tokyo National Museum and the National Museum of Western Art. Ueno Park is also celebrated in April for its cherry blossoms and hanami, which is flower viewing. The National Museum of Western Art presents its permanent exhibition of works by Van Gogh, Renoir, Picasso and Pollock regularly. Tokyo National Museum features a wide range of oriental artworks and antiquities including terracotta, ukiyo-e (Japanese paintings), woodblock prints, ceramics and katana (Swords).
