KCP CEMENT - “ CONCRETING FOR GENERATIONS”

India's first dry process kiln was installed here in 1958 by Humboldt, Germany, while it was still a prototype in Europe.
KCP's state-of-the-art cement manufacturing plant at Macherla, Andhra Pradesh has an enhanced production capacity of over 5,00,000 tonnes per annum. In 1962 KCP installed a second wet process kiln in collaboration with Fives Lille Cail, France. The finest illustration of KCP's success in cement technology is the Nagarjuna Sagar dam that straddles the turbulent Krishna river - a project that used 1.34 million metric tonnes of cement manufactured at KCP's Macherla plant.
Today, KCP has a 100% modernized plant, with a World Bank funded outlay of Rs. 367 million, that incorporates latest technologies like the energy efficient dry process, with two support kiln and a 5 stage pre-heater and calciner. KCP Cement also has a sophisticated centralized process control system with the hardware and software from Siemens, Germany.
KCP installed a “Power Generation plant” with a capacity of 2.3MW through steam power cycle by utilizing the waste fuel gases, which are exhausted from the preheater and cooler chimneys. This caters to 25% of the total power consumption of the plant. In doing so KCP practices “Cleaner Production Technologies and Climate Change Mitigation Measures” at the Cement Production Unit, Macherla.
