Those who know me, know I love to play grapplers. This year, I decided to get out of my comfort zone and play some other characters, especially in some game I love. First up is Kamaitachi in The Ninja Saviors: Return of the Warriors, otherwise known as The Ninja Warriors Once Again.

Kamaitachi is probably the most straight forward of all the characters. His jab has a long reach and is very quick, and his basic combo does decent damage with complete invincibility on the last couple of hits - sometimes useful for avoiding getting by missiles, bullets, or thrown knives. He has some throws for crowd control, and can score some decent damage with his back throw into up battery attack. While this move is very cool - spikes come flying out of his back toward the airborne enemy - it can be risky, as it easy to get hit out of the move and thus lose all your meter. This move is also useful for clearing the screen of those pesky airborne rocket launch robots, but for the most part, using his jab attack, jump block, and bomb with full meter seem to be the safest way to play.

The final boss can be a little tricky. You have to learn the correct positioning for throwing enemies into the boss, as it will often whiff if done incorrectly. The hitbox seems to only become active on enemies thrown into the air when they are actually falling down, making learning where to throw critical.

Great game, one of the best in the genre. If you haven't played yet, I highly recommend it. Hit me up if you have comments or need some help.
