• Percorso: parking vicino Forme, al Rifugio Casale da Monte (1.150 m). Facile sterrata per Fonte Canale. Poi si entra nella pineta e si inizia a salire (1.360 m), fino al bivio fra i sentieri 4, 5 e 6. Da quota 2.000 la salita si fa sempre più tecnica. Poco dopo inizia punto chiave della salita: il canalino, con passaggi di I e II grado. Poi gli ultimi 300 m di dislivello alla vetta del Velino (2.486 m). Per la discesa usiamo il sentiero num. 5. Una deviazione per visitare una grotta non segnata. Infine, 20 min di dura salita per visitare la Grotta di San Benedetto (1.700 m circa). Ritorno all’auto per lo stesso sentiero dell’andata

• Route: parking near Forme, at the Casale da Monte Refuge (1,150 m). Easy dirt road to Fonte Canale. Then you enter the pine forest and start climbing (1,360 m), up to the junction between paths 4, 5 and 6. From an altitude of 2,000 the climb becomes more and more technical. Shortly after, the key point of the climb begins: the gully, with passages of I and II degree. Then the last 300 m of altitude difference to the summit of Velino (2,486 m). For the descent we use the path no. 5. A detour to visit an unmarked cave. Finally, 20 min of hard climb to visit the Grotta di San Benedetto (about 1,700 m).
