Growing Peach Trees from Seed...
In this video, I'll catch you up on their progress. I cannot believe how BIG one of them is for only being 17 months old - it's crazy!

I'm super excited about the progress of the older one because I think this year will be the year it puts on explosive growth. It has already broken it's buds and looks to be primed to gain some serious size this year... Will it be able to flower next year? Likely not, as most stone fruits grown from seed take at least 4-7 years to produce flowers and fruit, but it's sure looking promising!
I'll also introduce 4 more peach tree saplings that are doing great and will also be a part of this series going forward. They are 6 months old as of this video.

Background to the Peach Trees from Seeds:
I purchased a few peaches from the store and decided to try my luck at growing the peach seeds into peach trees. I used the wet paper towel and ziploc bag method to start germination. I started the peach seeds on 10/2/16). It took about 4 weeks to get these two seeds to sprout and they've been in the cups for about another 5 weeks. I apologize for not filming it from the start. The central leaders on these saplings didn't look good so I was hesitant to even do the series but I topped them to promote some side shoots and they really took off!

Progress had been slow - fighting aphids, transplant shock and the Texas heat, but they are really growing so it's a good time to update the young peach trees.
