A year later, after disappearing for months, he came back as a champion shooter with his left hand. But it took him another 9 years to win the Olympic gold medal. Here is his inspirational journey to the podium. Karoly Takacs had already reached the status of the best pistol shooter in the world around the year 1936. Yet, he won the Olympic gold medal only 12 years later in 1948.
