Women play a very important part in our lives. Since ancient times women have been respected and loved in India but slowly their position started to degrade. Now women are treated like objects of pleasure for men. I would say that a man is not a man who does not respect women. Women are loving, caring and forgiving in nature and they even forget the crimes done against them in the society and also their family. Women give up their happiness for their family and children. Violence against women and girls remains pervasive across the world, despite significant efforts being made to recognize, eliminate, and prevent it in all its forms. Eliminating violence against women and girls is pivotal to achieving gender equality, women’s empowerment, and the Sustainable Development Goals. Elimination can only be done through prevention. Successful prevention requires:

political commitment and leadership,
implementing laws and policies that promote gender equality,
investing in women’s organizations,
allocating resources to prevention, and
addressing the multiple forms of discrimination women face daily.
