Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (Game Boy) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

Описание к видео Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (Game Boy) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

A playthrough of THQ's 1992 license-based platformer for the Nintendo Game Boy, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.

Much like the original Home Alone game for the Game Boy did, this sequel largely follows in the footsteps of the SNES version. The game is much the same as the NES and SNES games in terms of level layout and action (though it looks and plays a fair amount better than the NES version). It was also handled by Imagineering, who did the first Game Boy game, which you might have noticed if you noted the similarities in the sound effects and music. While Lost in New York is in no way a "classic" title, and it barely resembles the movie upon which it is based, the fact that it is playable meant some kids probably actually got some enjoyment out of this one. I did for a brief period of time way back, and it was still reasonably fun to go back and play again for this recording.

As far as the two Game Boy games go, I'd probably take this game over the first one. They are both fairly mediocre experiences, but the relative variety in this one (not all of the levels take place in a house) and the shorter length make HA2 my preferred way to dish out punishment to the Wet-turned-Sticky Bandits (eww...) on the Nintendo handheld.

This video was recorded with Retroarch's DMG shader to get the look of the original Game Boy screen.

Happy holidays, everybody!
