The new 2019 Ford Ranger gets the highest combined fuel economy rating of 23 mpg.

The new Ford Ranger is promoting a new medium-sized pickup because of its fuel efficiency. Powered by a standard turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine, the Ranger has an EPA-estimated fuel economy rating of 21 mpg in the city, 26 on the highway and 23 combined for its four-wheel drive truck. The ratings surpass EPA's estimates for less powerful four-cylinder competitors, including the Chevrolet Colorado and the Toyota Tacoma.

The Rangers with four-wheel drive have a power of 20 mpg in the city, 24 on the highway and 22 mpg in total. "This is the best fuel economy classification in the city according to the EPA's calculation of any mid-size truck with four-wheel drive with a gasoline engine," Ford said.
