This is a high-level technical introduction to IBM Spectrum Protect.

Supports massive data growth with an IBM Spectrum Protect server’s ability to manage up to 4 petabytes of client data and ingest up to 100 terabytes of new and changed client data per day.
Reduces the amount of data needing to be managed through data reduction techniques like Incremental Forever backup, de-duplication, compression.
Empowers a flexible storage hierarchy that utilizes hundreds of different types of disk, tape, vtl, and cloud to match the value of the data to the value of the storage.
Utilizes tape to provide low cost, long term, air-gaped storage
Works in-the-cloud, on-the-cloud, to-the-cloud and as-a-cloud..
Provides flexible interfaces to meet the end users' needs.
Includes built in reporting that can be customized or used out of the box.
