Kylie Kelce Delivers Farewell Commencement Speech at Cabrini University's Final Graduation

On May 19, 2024, Kylie Kelce, wife of former Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce, returned to Cabrini University in Radnor, PA, to give a heartfelt commencement address to the class of 2024. This significant event marked Cabrini University's last graduation ceremony as the institution prepares to close after 67 years.

Cabrini University announced in June 2023 that it would be closing after the 2023-2024 academic year, with its property to be sold to nearby Villanova University.

Kylie Kelce, a 2017 graduate of Cabrini with a bachelor's degree in communications, began her speech with humor, noting her family's growing fame and joking about her own under-the-radar preference despite the public spotlight. "The university couldn't even get a top five Kelce," she quipped, earning laughs from the crowd. She then added, "My husband, Jason Kelce, is known for giving some pretty earth-shattering speeches. He did not help me in writing my words today, so you can go ahead and lower those expectations."

Kylie highlighted the importance of authenticity and embracing individuality, advising graduates to use their unique qualities to stand out in life. "What a boring world it would be if you and your classmates sitting to either side of you thought exactly the same way, enjoyed exactly the same things, and partook in exactly the same activities," she noted.

Kylie also touched on personal reflections, including motherhood and the uncertainties of life after college. She emphasized that it's okay not to have everything figured out and shared her experience of "winging it" as a parent alongside her husband, Jason. "I have no idea what I'm doing. Every day, we are winging it. Just trying not to mess our kids up — come to find out that's what our parents did, too," she said, drawing a connection between her current experiences and those of the graduates' parents.

In a poignant moment, Kylie addressed Cabrini's closure, encouraging graduates to cherish their memories and the community they built. "This was home and this was where you found your extended family," she said of the college. "In the next few months, as the sign at the front entrance no longer reads Cabrini, and a new school moves in, know that your home still exists."

She concluded with a powerful message on staying true to oneself: "I am well aware that my current position in life is due to the wonderful people around me, but I'll be damned if I don't stay true to myself in everything I do and ensure that I am always authentically me. So find the things that speak to you. Your enthusiasm can be channeled to create change, and you are wonderful the way you are."

Kylie's speech resonated deeply, providing a mix of humor, wisdom, and heartfelt emotion as Cabrini University bid farewell to its final class.
