Casting & Turning Small Bubble Free Resin Blanks without a Pressure Pot

Описание к видео Casting & Turning Small Bubble Free Resin Blanks without a Pressure Pot

In this video I'll be creating a bubble free resin casting without using a pressure pot. Impossible you say? Well I think not!. The trick is just using the proper resin. In this case, I'll be using some Alumilite Corp. Amazing Deep Pour Epoxy. Not to be confused with Alumilite Clear, or Clear Slow Urethane Resin. Hey, let me tell you... That Alumilite Clear and Alumilite Clear Slow is some really bad ass stuff but you definitely will need a pressure pot or you'll have a bubbly mess. Just think about it. The stuff cures in 7 to 12 minutes. If you don't give the bubbles a chance to escape, the resin will begin to harden and they'll get trapped like a villain in an Indiana Jones dungeon
Using a resin with the proper properties (hey, that sounds funny doesn't it? Proper properties...) will give those little suckers a chance to rise to the surface and pop. It's important that the resin be of the proper viscosity. We definitely want something closer to water than to maple syrup on a cold January morning. it's also a good idea to have a resin with the proper hardness so it sands and polishes well. So, let's review. Thin and hard is good. Thick and soft is bad. Ok, get your minds out of the gutter. I'm discussing resin here. Sheesh
If you have a question, leave me a comment. I try to answer all the legitimate questions. If you leave a snarkey comment, I may just reply in kind. Or I may just ignore you depending on my mood. You've been warned.

If you're still reading this (and God only knows why you would be) please help me out by subscribing to my channel, liking my videos, leaving comments (snarkey or otherwise). It all helps me out in my battle with big tech. They've been running advertisements on my videos for years and its about time I got my tiny slice of the ad revenue. I mean c'mon, I know Google is barely scraping by and I shouldn't be so selfish to want a small percentage of the take, but tools are expensive.
