The Queen of Zangla

In February of 2018, Kahtoola Founder and Owner Danny Giovale and a team of five set out on a multi-week backpacking trip to the remote Phuktal Monastery by way of the Zanskar River, an ancient trade route in the Indian Himalaya. Having worked to preserve and enrich Tibetan culture through the Kahtoola for the People program for 20 years, it is a unique look at the imminent impacts of climate change and road development on traditional Tibetan Buddhist practices and culture in the region.
