Abstract
This presentation is for anybody interested in the product safety of electronic equipment. Users have the right to expect their products remain safe during normal use, abnormal use, reasonably foreseeable misuse, and fault conditions. Laws impose obligations on suppliers to meet minimum standards and regulations. A thorough understanding of energy hazards that can cause pain and injury, as well as safeguards against hazardous energy transfer is vital to ensure the safeness of products placed on the market. This presentation will discuss the principles of safety in IEC 62368-1 for home and office information and communications technology equipment (ICT) and audio/video and multimedia equipment regarding various safety
risks, hazards, and equipment safeguards. It then places the standard in the context of laws and regulations as well as social responsibilities and liabilities associated with offering electronic products on the market.
