Twisted Metal - Speedrun (Twisted): Sweet Tooth's Carnival of Carnage [

I set this world record on Oct. 25, 2014 and it is still the #1 ranked time as of the date of this upload. My choice for this event is Shadow mainly because of how fast it can get through the initial stage, and how moderately fast easy it is to control for the second and third stages.

For the first stage, you need to use absorption shield against the flamethrower turret to gain a special, with you can spam for an extra 45 DD which should be enough if you fire machine guns, fire off all the basic missiles you start with and get in a ram. I was a bit slow in the second stage, as I usually try to hit the clown head just off to the edge like I did for the final time, which causes it to skip the animation the wastes time. However, if you're too far over it can cause the hit on the head not to register, so one has to be careful. When I do get stuck with the animation, I try to get myself positioned to drive forward towards the target, but failed the first time around and got a bit disoriented following the animation. For the third sequence, I mostly just book it even if I hit some of the hazards. Unless you get hit by the wrecking balls, none of them are that threatening and the patterns are pretty obvious.

Then, Talon happens. This is the first and only time you'll probably see me piloting Talon, because I suck with the damn vehicle. It doesn't help that the segment tends to be really random and glitchy. I had a good start with the first three sweet bots, and then things started getting annoying. My first sweet bot target decided to do an annoying glitch where they just self-destruct, and the rest of the sweet bots were being uncooperative by not letting me line up a decent shot. Then once I finally got one down I got harassed even more, but got the fourth hit in eventually with a loss of probably around twenty seconds. My last one went decently smooth. All in all, it wasn't a bad run, but I think that a run under four minutes is definitely doable. In the meantime, it's a world record for now, so I'm happy with it.
