Overwintering A Lemon Tree Inside | Container Gardening

Hello! My name is Bethany and I grow things in my rooftop container garden in Chicago, zone 6a. I am by no means an expert, just someone who enjoys sharing my garden journey.

Here are my tips for overwintering a lemon tree:
- Plan to move it indoors once nighttime temperatures are in the 40 degrees F
- Move the lemon tree to a shadier spot before moving it inside permanently
- Check for bugs before moving inside and regularly throughout the winter
- Don't fertilize and reduce watering to when the soil is dry up to your knuckle
- Place the lemon tree in front of the sunniest window or a grow light
- Provide extra humidity and air circulation
