The Artifact Protocol is a psychological horror game in which you not only look into a mystery but also live it. You are Anthony, a soldier who was wrongfully imprisoned and given the chance to get out of jail in exchange for taking part in a secret experiment. You have to go through the last moments of the dead person's life by interacting with five haunted objects, each of which holds the traumatic memories of the last person who died.

As you go through each terrifying trial, the line between who you are and who the victims are starts to blur. You'll fight monsters that change shape, explore environments that are very atmospheric, and learn about the story through immersive environmental storytelling instead of cutscenes.

After finishing the main game, you can unlock Nightmare Mode, which adds a new "Observer" enemy and more layers to the story. The game deals with themes of fear, loss, and identity, and it leaves you with questions that stay with you long after you've finished playing.
