THREE canyons, TWO motos | Episode 5: Off-road Adventure Riding through Central Mexico

Our second week in Mexico mainland, we adventure motorcycled through three canyons, misty mountains and found the jewels of Mexico.

With a month on the road under our belts, we are finally getting the hang of life on two wheels. After a longer stay in Guanajuato to watch Redbull’s Ultimo Urban Enduro Race UUE’23, we hit the road to explore the notoriously foggy Sierra Gordo. A public Gaia tracks labeled “tres canyones” had us climbing up a curvy road to the peak of the mountains near Piñal de Amoles. At the edge of the cloudy ridgeline we dropped down to canyon of ~20 water crossings and then back up to the cloud city of San Joaquin. The next day we rode east dropping below the cloud forest to the breathtaking views of Cañon Las Angosturas to do some motocanyoneering. Two canyons was not enough so we headed over to Tolantongo, a well known touristy hot springs waterfall, to meet up with some other overloading motorcyclist @lostwith4wheels and @swissgrommies. After a dip in the hot springs waterfall and camping along the aqua blue river bed we headed off to Mexico City.

Happy New Year everyone! We might not be in Mexico right now but in this episode we still are. Turns out YouTube editing on the road is hard. To be honest we are starting to burn the rubber at both ends. The demand of keeping up with YouTube and travel is wearing down on our ability to keep a decent travel pace, find time to relax, and make it to Patagonia before winter. We can’t help but continue to capture our experience and share it with all of you but at a much slower pace. After a little holiday break from editing we are back to releasing episodes and we hope you enjoy.
