Shadow work is a brave journey to learn about ourselves. It helps us see the hidden parts of our mind that we often ignore or keep in the dark. The idea of the shadow comes from Carl Jung, a famous Swiss psychiatrist. He understood that inside each person, there is a mix of both light and dark elements. Our shadow includes everything we consider unacceptable, shameful, or unworthy – the parts of ourselves that we have learned to hide from others and sometimes even from ourselves. The hidden parts of our mind don't just go away; they have a strong impact on how we think, act, and connect with others, often in ways we may not realize.

Shadow work encourages us to explore these hidden parts of ourselves, recognizing and accepting all aspects of who we are. It's about getting back the parts of ourselves that we've lost and accepting our complete selves, with all the messiness and beauty that comes with it. This work isn't about getting rid of our shadow, as it is a key part of our identity. Instead, it's about becoming aware of it, understanding where it comes from, and finding ways to use its energy positively and constructively.
