Wuxi, Suzhou and Changzhou, as the core cities of China's most developed provinces, have always been popular tourist destinations across the country.
I always have a special liking for cities in Jiangsu Province. I hope you like the Wuxi street scene video I shot this time.
You will see the bustling street scenes and the Big Buddha attractions in Wuxi in the video.

Wuxi is known as the "Pearl of Taihu Lake" and is a core city in the Yangtze River Delta and the Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou Metropolitan Area. The municipal government is located at No. 1 Jingui Road, Taihu New Town. Wuxi is the birthplace of Jiangnan civilization and the birthplace of Wu culture.
Wuxi may not be strewn with the classical gardens that have made Suzhou famous, but it does share beautiful Taihu Lake with Suzhou, and some may prefer visiting the lake – the heart and soul of the Jiangnan region – in Wuxi instead of Suzhou.
The city has grown considerably over the last few years and is ever-more attractive for expats, with a growing variety of restaurants, bars and scenic areas such as Taihu Lake. There are many charming old-style streets in the city’s downtown area many of which feature bustling street food markets.
Wuxi offers a genuine China experience in that there is still not a huge expat community, although it does attract both young and old, married couples or single teachers. Considered relatively small by Chinese standards – it boasts a population of 7.5 million – it is large enough to have a growing metro system, an airport and is well-connected by fast trains to other parts of China.
Wuxi’s cost of living is lower in comparison to larger cities. Cheap rents and a laid-back atmosphere make Wuxi a great place to enjoy a high-quality of living and still be able to set money aside.
Wuxi is famous as a vacation spot in China as it sits on the banks of China’s third largest lake, the beautiful Taihu Lake. The whole area has various waterways in addition to this lake, including the famous Grand Canal. It’s also easy to get out of the city and enjoy hiking trails across the area’s many gentle hills.
Wuxi is located in southeast Jiangsu province, the center of the Yangtze River Delta, which is the most developed economic area of China. It is adjacent to Taihu Lake on the south, the Yangtze River on the north, 128 km to Shanghai on the east, and 183 km to Nanjing on the west.
On an area of 4,627 square kilometers, Wuxi administrates two county-level cities, namely Jiangyin and Yixing, and five districts, namely Liangxi district, Xishan district, Huishan district, Binhu district and Xinwu district. It has a permanent resident population of 7.49 million.

History & Culture
-------------------⭐⭐
Boasting a history of more than 3,000 years, Wuxi is a historical city with profound cultural heritages and a large amount of talents. It's home to the Wu Culture in ancient times, and the national industrial and commercial culture in modern times. Wuxi has 31 important heritage sites under state protection, 11 sites named national intangible cultural heritage and 60 museums and memorial halls.
Relying on the near-by Yangtze River and ancient Grand Canal, it had been a port city with the busiest rice and cloth market in China before the 19th century. In modern times, with its rapidly developing industry, Wuxi became one of China's top 50 cities with broad strength and is thus called the 'Little Shanghai' for its prosperous economy.
It is impossible not to fall in love with Wuxi, a city teeming with historical sites, beautiful lake views, lush mountains, countryside scenery and ancient towns.
Also, you will be overwhelmed by a variety of snacks including Steamed Buns, Braised Spare Ribs in Brown Sauce, Wonton and Beancurd Jelly. The most popular snack streets are Chongan Temple Pedestrian Street and Nanchan Temple Pedestrian Street.
