Chasing the Troy Grove Job With Massive Drift Clearing

Описание к видео Chasing the Troy Grove Job With Massive Drift Clearing

A GP15AC, a GP60, another GP15AC and a GP15-1 lead train LPJ04, the Troy Grove Job, on a Sunday run through the Illinois countryside en route to Troy Grove Illinois. Thanks to Bill Meier for the tip/tracking info. I just barely made it to La Fox before the train got there. After this I raced out to Elva on the branch where I ran into 8 other rail fans chasing this train. After getting him the group spilt up and went to other locations (they were all photographers and left right after the locomotives went by) while I stayed to film the entire train. The group re grouped at University road where more rail fans were waiting for the train. This is the spot of the largest drift on the line. Unfortunately, my camera was malfunctioning which is why the zoom shot got messed up. At Elva, the train had got some snow stuck in its horn, resulting in it being muffled and creating an unusual tone. Had it not been for me running low on gas I would have chased him further south. Except for two rail fans, the group ended their chase at university road. When the train got to Troy Grove it de-railed and was stranded at Troy Grove for several days. Some photos I took while chasing this train can be found here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/92718181... http://www.flickr.com/photos/92718181...
