Formed in Northampton in the UK in 1978, Bahaus are one of the pioneers of goth rock, and this track Bela Lugosi’s Dead was their debut track in 1979. Although this track is seen as a dark and moody experience, it is actually influenced by the band’s interest in reggae an dub styles of music, with prominent bass and drums.

Originally known as Bauhaus 1919, which was reference to the beginning of the German Art school Bahaus famous for its innovation in design and architecture.

Bela Lugosi was an actor famous for playing Dracula in the early 1930s.

Goths were a nomadic Germanic people from the late 300s
