Sangean ATS-909X2 Teardown - preproduction EU version, firmware 070

In this video, I opened up the Sangean ATS-909X2 (EU version, date code 2020/10, firmware 070) and tried to show some of the insides. Unfortunately, I don't really have a good camera setup which could focus well on the details, so I added photos here and there.


In general, I think it's mostly OK, but some of the solder handwork should have been a bit better, since some components were damaged inside of the radio during manufacturing, but that damage won't actually affect performance.


Also, sorry for my bad English, it's been a few years since I've actively spoken it, and while making this video, I found out it's not as fluent as it used to be.

Note: Photo of the resistor at 22:15 should have been placed during my comments about the SMD resistor at 22:40.

The IC which I couldn't identify is the Silicon Labs Si4735 BROADCAST AM/FM/SW/LW RADIO RECEIVER

28.02.2021.update: Sangean is going to be releasing a new production version of the radio, and it also seems like they're going to be releasing a new firmware as well, therefore I changed the title of the video to clarify which version of the radio this is. Unfortunately, I still don't know what are the improvements in the new version of the firmware and hardware.
