Guwahati Celebrates 100 Years of Assamese Gramophone Records

Reminiscing the 100-year-old legacy of Assamese Gramophone records, a centenary celebration event took place at the Lakshmiram Borooah Sadan in Guwahati’s Digholipukhuri. The event not only commemorated the first Assamese gramophone records produced by renowned composer, singer and stage actor late Prafulla Chandra Borooah but also cherished the advent of a new era of Assamese music following the efforts of Prafulla Chandra Borooah in introducing Assamese songs in the form of Gramophone records during the British era.
