homemade khari recipe:

Ingredients:

1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup butter, chilled and cubed
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 cup cold water
Optional: sesame seeds or nigella seeds for topping
Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and baking powder.
Add the chilled butter cubes to the flour mixture. Use your fingers or a pastry cutter to rub the butter into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs.
Gradually add cold water to the mixture, a little at a time, and knead until it forms a smooth dough.
Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
Fold the rectangle into thirds, like folding a letter, to create layers. Roll out the dough again into a rectangle.
Repeat the folding process two more times, then roll out the dough into a final rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
Cut the dough into desired shapes using a knife or cookie cutter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
If desired, sprinkle sesame seeds or nigella seeds on top of the khari.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the khari are golden brown and crispy.
Allow them to cool on a wire rack before serving.
