Liberal Senator Andrew Bragg says super funds are getting into “world domination” territory.

The Labor government has proposed sweeping reforms to the $3.4 trillion superannuation sector, including finding ways to ensure super funds are investing in green energy and social housing – which some have argued is the government using the industry to aid their political goals.

“Super funds are asking for a new tax break on top of their already eye-watering tax breaks,” Mr Bragg told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

“Which would allow them to have what they call build-to-rent schemes, which would … push Australians to become renters to the super funds.

Mr Bragg alleged the Labor government are the “government for vested interests” and super policy is where the vested interest is “running the show”.
