In this video, I'm diving into the world of Gentoo Linux and why I stand by my previous statement: it's a trauma bond. After spending days working on a Gentoo installation with some buddies, I'm sharing my experience with the process, the challenges, and what I've learned about this challenging Linux distro.

While the Gentoo handbook is incredibly detailed and well-documented, the sheer number of "optional" choices can make the process overwhelming, especially for a new user. It's a system that teaches you a lot about Gentoo specifically, but not necessarily a broad range of general Linux knowledge as many people claim.

If you're a Linux for beginners user, this is definitely not the distro for you. But for someone who loves to tinker, customize every detail, and is prepared for a long and challenging journey, the reward of seeing a perfectly polished custom Linux system come to life is hard to beat. I'm still learning, still fine-tuning, and I'm sharing my ongoing "trauma bond" with you all.
