We Are INL – Celebrating 75 Years of Innovation

In 1949, the Atomic Energy Commission announced it would build the National Reactor Testing Station on the Naval Proving Ground in eastern Idaho, marking the beginning of what is today's Idaho National Laboratory. This year, we are celebrating 75 years of excellence in science, engineering and innovation.

The work we do in support of our clean energy and national security missions today is built upon the research and development foundation established by INL employees over seven decades of achievement.
