"How to make an interesting chart like how to even find a good note setup that works well and is playable. Like for example knowing what direction to make the notes come from and knowing what overall pattern to give the notes."
My Answer: Interesting charts always should have some challenge, a good note setup its up to you , but I really recommend to not make charts unecessary easy or hard for the specific song, nobody wants to se 4star gekishou or 10 star Packaged xD
the direction where come notes from is also depending on your general idea, if you want to just have a simple note flow where the notes are like say...a road then you would let them come from opposite direction so they never accidently cover notes which are not played yet, but if you want to do some special mapping (example sadistic music factory technical zones) you have to think a bit more about from where notes fly in the screen since usually you dont want to make it too difficult to read, which is harder to do if its not a simple road-like mapping
Overall pattern, just stick to some kind of system, if you have a song which has many times the refrain, you shouldn't do completly different stuff there, you can make the pattern a little harder, but I wouldn't increase the notes density there by adding unfitting notes just to make it harder

SO now my stuff I have to say about this video
1) I will not play testguy when you now decide to learn editmode, I did the tutorial and I'm about to have diva hiatus/quit diva(depends how it continues with diva games regarding the editmode) so I dont need a message spam saying I should test everyones stuff
2) screw Youtube and my Internet, this video took more than 24hours to upload FML
3) If you have questions just ask, but look at comments first if question is already answered and if it is give it a like or something so it stands out more for others
4) Sry for this tutorial for not beeing high quality or anything I did most of it while editing LovexLove Whistle so I did explained everything on first try, so I apologize for lots of spelling errors

Now Recommendations for you when you start with your first edit
1) dont choose a very long song, keep it between 2 and 4 minutes
2) dont choose something very complicated, If I would have edited coin locker baby as a first edit I would have failed baaaaadly, so use some catchy song which is kind of simple at first, best to get familiar with editmode instead of running in tons of problems right from the start

I will add later some picture links here so you have a quicker help when you forgot something , I found rewatching tutorials just because I cant memorize everything annoying, so I will also do the same in pictures so you dont have to load a video, or can save this to your phone etc. but will take some time
