Tramping accross the Southern Alps Part 2

Description

In february 2023 I spent three weeks hiking around Mount Aspiring National Park on the southern island of New Zealand. My plan was to walk across the Southern Alps from Wanaka, over Queenstown to Haast.

From the 11th to the 23rd I hiked the second section from Glenorchy to Haast. I hiked up the Rees River valley to Cascade Saddle. After a detour to Mount Tyndall I walked down along the West-Matukituki River and then back up the East-Matukituki River to Pearson Saddle. Here I left the marked trails and crossed over into Waiatoto River valley which I then followed down
to the Tasmanian Sea and Haast.

This scarcely narrated video shows impressions from the Glenorchy to Haast section of this hike.
