Daycare Bone Marrow Transplant Performed at Trustwell Hospital

Bengaluru : Trustwell Hospital, J C Road, has successfully performed a daycare Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) on a 44-year-old patient with Multiple Myeloma, eliminating the need for prolonged hospital stay.

The patient underwent an Autologous Stem Cell Transplant, a complex procedure traditionally requiring weeks of hospitalisation. Using an advanced daycare protocol, the transplant was completed the same day, allowing the patient to return home.

The procedure was led by Dr. Sachin Jadhav, Director – Haematology & BMT, who said the approach reduced treatment costs by nearly 40%, completing the transplant within ₹5 lakh without compromising safety or outcomes.

Trustwell Hospital Chairman & Managing Director Dr. H V Madhusudhan said the milestone reflects the hospital’s commitment to making advanced cancer care more accessible and affordable.
