DIY How to Make Bow Scrunchies | Knot Tail Scrunchie | 2 Styles | DIY Hair Accessories | Bravo Dada

Hello everyone! I love to sew different styles and sizes of scrunchies. Today I’m going to share with you how I make two different styles of bow / tail scrunchies.

Important note: I use the metric system and make the exact conversion from cm to inches in the hope of helping. Please adapt these measurements to your ruler.

The materials and techniques I used are the ones I thought were the best for me as a self-taught creative seamstress. It doesn’t mean they are the best for you, so feel free to use your creativity and make it your own! You can adjust the measurements as you like and also add other features.

Fabric measurements for both scrunchies:
2 fabric pieces (different fabrics): 60cm / 23 5/8” x 11.5cm / 4 17/32”.

Fabric measurements for the bow:
For the pattern, you’ll need to draw a rectangle of 4cm / 1 37/64” x 10cm / 3 15/16” and afterwords a centered square of 8cm / 3 5/32” on both ends. You just have to mark the middle of the 4 edges of the square and, taking into account the size of the square, draw your “ears” the way you want it to look.

Fabric measurements for the tail/bow:
1 fabric piece: 78cm / 30 45/64” x 9.5cm / 3 47/64”.

Elastic measurement:
2 elastic pieces (without stretch): each 20cm / 7 7/8”.

Needle size:
80/12.

Seam Allowance:
0.7cm / 9/32”.
