Vikram describes how Tipu Sultan's tactics ultimately led to his betrayal by his own men. The fall of this tyrant marked the beginning of British domination over India. He also highlights Tipu's merciless cruelty towards the "kafirs," particularly the Nairs, Kodavas, and Mangalore Christians. Following Tipu's defeat, the empowerment that the Moplahs had enjoyed during his reign was suppressed, leading to a resurgence of latent resentment that violently erupted during the Moplah riots of the Khilafat movement. Furthermore, Vikram notes the willingness of Muslim rulers, both then and during the Khilafat, to assist the Afghans in their efforts to reconquer and rule India.
