Recently, the Prime Minister Modi paid tribute to Ahom warrior Lachit Borphukan on Lachit Diwas, on this occasion, the Prime Minister mentioned the remarkable historical contribution of Lachit Borphukan. On the other side, scientists have detected the most powerful cosmic rays ever to reach Earth, this particle has been named Amaterasu after a Japanese sun goddess. And ‘National Tiger Conservation Authority’ has recommended declaring 'Nugu Wildlife Sanctuary' as 'Core Tiger Habitat' of Bandipur.
In other section, scientists have discovered a new species of frog, ‘Music Frog’, in the Namdapha-Kamlong region of Arunachal Pradesh. It was identified in the swamp near the local river Noa-Dihing. Along with that 77th Permanent Meeting of CITES was held in Geneva. The meeting focused on compliance with wildlife trade rules. This meeting was called almost a year after the COP-19 conference. About 600 participants participated in it.
