Welcome to Lincolnshire V3
Introduction & Background
Lincolnshire is a rural county, located in the East Midlands region of the UK. Based on
operations of Stagecoach East Midlands Gainsborough depot, Lincolnshire V2 for
OMSI, brings you the market town of Gainsborough, along with many many miles of
rural bus services that surround Gainsborough. The routes included in Lincolnshire V2

95: Gainsborough – Retford
A true rural local service. It is a long-standing rural route, connecting Gainsborough to
the nearby town of Retford. Here we cross into the neighbouring county of
Nottinghamshire! The focus of the route is traffic to/from Retford, with timings built to
provide a morning and evening peak to/from Retford, with services running every 2
hours throughout most of the day. The route features two reversing moves, in the village
of Bole, and Leverton at Habblesthorpe close, with the former being the most
challenging. There are many videos of the real route on You tube showing the best way
to tackle these, but it probably will take a few go’s before you get this perfected! The
route also adds the first level crossing to the map – at Leverton, where the route crosses
a disused freight line, that until the late 2010s served the nearby power station. The
signs, barriers, and tracks are still in situ. In this version the fictional 95a short journey
to/from Beckingham has been withdrawn, with servces now timed better to provide a
peak service into and from Gainsborough.
