The year is 2000 A.D. At Kurogatake in the Japanese Alps, a mysterious ancient tomb that couldn't belong to any of the world's known ancient civilizations is discovered. The excavation is entrusted to Shinano University and Jonan University, and the Jonan graduate student Sakurako Sawatari handles the mysterious ancient letters recorded in the ruins. However, the evening she deciphers the ominous words “death” and “warning” from the writings, strange happenings break out at the excavation site. Just that same day, her friend from college and adventurer Yusuke Godai returns from abroad to come study the Kurogatake ruins, and when he senses the uneasiness in the air he rushes to the excavation site. The next morning, Yusuke arrives at the dig site that was turned into a disaster and while Detective Ichijo of the Nagano police questions him as a suspicious person, he sees a strange belt-like relic discovered from the ruins. Yusuke remembers the character he saw for a brief moment on the belt and asks Sakurako to decipher it, and that afternoon meets up with her outside the Nagano police station. Yusuke also meets again with Detective Ichijo there. Finally Detective Ichijo shows Yusuke and Sakurako a video left behind by the excavation members that he found during the investigation of the bizarre happenings at the ruins. And then something astonishing happens...
