The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) wrote to the Law Commission on Wednesday, opposing the proposal for the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). The body also asked people to object to UCC.

The Law Commission asked for views and ideas on UCC in a notice on June 14. Responding to it, AIMPLB said the content of the notice was "vague, too general, and unclear". It also said that believers of Islam are mandated to follow the injunctions of the Quran, a holy book.
