This video deals with the main Types and Features of ESP, English for Specific Purposes. It covers the key concepts related to the absolute and variable characteristics of ESP. It mainly focuses on different views as proposed by Strevens (1988) and Dudley-Evans and St. John (1998 ). Also, we consider the importance of ESP as a vibrant term including an increasing range of occupations that have taken shelter under the concept of ESP. New concepts are discussed to reach the following:
• Define the absolute and variable characteristics of E S P.
• List the types of E S P.
• Identify the factors influencing the use of E S P.
