In this episode I show you how to make a carbon seat from hand. I use the form I shaped out of a piece I did find in a garbage bin at a construction site from episode 8 and coat it in real carbon fibre.
This process is very satisfying, lets get right into it (see you in the video).

I am a big K100 and cafe racer fan. I always dreamed of owning a motorbike one day, however as a medical student I had not the time nor the savings to buy a bike. After I finished university I just couldn´t wait any longer so I took it into my own hands. I bought an old BMW K100rs from 1983. The overall condition was good, however it didn´t pass the main inspection (TÜV). I wanted to take the bike for some rides before I start the transformation, so I immediately begun to restore and upgrade the bike according my desires. The problem was that I really had not experience in bikes, only some Mofa and scooter tuning experiences. The next problem was I didn´t even had a workshop. So what I did is I built a workshop and then the bike.

This BMW K100 cafe racer series is about the journey through all this. I hope you like this series. I would really love to get a feedback if you liked it, feel free to share it.

I hope you stick around the entire series, very exciting parts coming!

My mission is to build the greatest BMW K100 cafe racer out there and there was no other option left for me than building an entire workshop just for this project. In Episode 2 I will take you through the entire building process of my K100-workshop. I truly love details and good quality work and hopefully some of the details shown in my videos could be helpful to you, whether if it is about the BMW K100 (engine works, frame modifications, hand-shaping a carbon seat, wiring the Motogadget M-unit blue, Tank modifications, rebuilding a throttle body, restoring the forks, etc.) or about the workshop (how to build a bench, how to build tool walls, how to build a cafe racer garage, how to cement, etc.). In Episode 3 we will really go hard on the bike and disassembly starts. Episode 4 & 5 will be all about how to modify and old 1983 BMW motorbike into a modern cafe racer. In episode 6 I restore the engine; alternator; starter; waterpump; rims; starter and do some sandblasting. And Episode 7 is about the first of its kind BMW K100 frame design. This here is episode 8 where I shape the seat out of a garbage scrap. In episode 9 I turn the creation of episode 8 into a carbon seat. Episode 10/11/12 are currently in editing.

I wish you all the best and thank you for watching I truly appreciate it! You could really help me in leaving a subscription/like or a comment. Any interaction with you inspires me to do better. And who knows where this journey could bring both of us. Sometimes it is only a little spark or an idea that changes one life´s destiny as a whole.

Best regards
Luk
